A bloat trocar is a veterinary instrument used to treat severe, life-threatening bloat (free-gas) in ruminants like cattle, sheep, and goats by puncturing the rumen to release trapped gas. It is inserted into the left flank (paralumbar fossa) to reduce pressure on the heart and lungs.
